Happy Halloween
Tonight's Halloween count: 31 kids. Kinda disappointing after last years 57. And the weather was again incredible - 61 and dry this evening. I tried taking a picture of max in his costume (he's a black cat), but he wasn't interested in posing or guarding the candy. My friend Al was collecting the 'trick or treat' stats from our friends via text messaging. The tally was: Wessler 62, me 31 and Evans 50+ before they lost count. Texting Halloween stats...a first for me.
Jokes this year (seems to be a St. Louis thing - in some neighborhoods you have to have a joke to get a treat) include "What do you get when you cross a ghost and a tavern?" and "Why are there a fences around cemeteries?"
I heard some lyrics to the 'trick or treat' phrase in a party store the other day:
'Trick or treat,
Trick or treat,
Give us something good to eat.
Trick or treat,
Trick or treat,
Or we'll put snails on your feet."
Trick or treat,
Give us something good to eat.
Trick or treat,
Trick or treat,
Or we'll put snails on your feet."
After some 20 years the host of my favorite Ska music radio program left, so I listened to an older 'Skalloween' program, but it wasn't quite the same. I did however get to use some air compressor accessories I've never used before - the blow gun nozzle has different tips for ball inflating, inflate/deflate adapters and a rubber tip which I used to inflate the plastic ghost in about 3 seconds. Love that inflator, saved me from almost passing out like I usually do each year.
answers: (Boooos, of course) (because people are dying to get in!)
