A Galesburg Trainride
Last weekend Bud Purcell and I drove up to Galesburg, IL to ride as guests on the special excursion the BNSF Railway was hosting. Only four hours away from STL, it was nice to re-visit the town, and catch up with several of the BNSF employees and re-ride several of the cars which were part of the big Texas trip we pulled in 2001 with the Frisco 1522 steam locomotive. No steam this time, just a newer diesel with the latest BNSF Railway logo on it.
Galesburg is a railroad town with Union Pacific, Norforlk Southern and BNSF running through it. BNSF has a very large classification yard there, the pictures capture a fraction of the space. Pictures by Bud Purcell.
