Finally on the Neidrauer Adventure

Sunday, March 23, 2008

Happy Easter to all.

This is a real adventure, mostly because I have never blogged before. Thank goodness Denis is the whiz kid for computers. I am really testing my skills. Thanks for the help Denis.

Who would have thought that when we got to the St. Louis area we would experience wind, rain, flooding and snow. Here I thought we were avoiding this snow for the winter by going south and the mid-west. Wrong! We had tornadoes following us in Texas and Mississippi. In Leland, MS we had snow. Now don't get me wrong, 1 inch of snow isn't much when one lives in the Rochester, NY area but for the folks in Leland were quite excited about getting an inch. They hadn't had any snow in more than 8 years. Schools, social event and businesses closed early. We were told that 8 years ago the highway departments in the area put sand in the dump trucks, retrieved prisoners from the local jails and had them throw the sand onto icey bridges from inside the bed of the trucks. Sure is a different way to spread sand!
