Early Summer Tease
March 1st roared in like a lion bringing spring-like 60 degree warm weather on Saturday. The track-building crew for the St. Louis Live Steamers have quickly caught up to the materials on hand. Having finished the roadbed for the Wye we wait for the Rail order from the mill to be processed so we can start building track panels. On Saturday several of us went to the track anyway and had a nice social.
Sunday was a complete tease of early summer with breezy 73 degree temperatures most of the day. People were eager to get out of the house and the local news reported that the people who did not stay home to wash their cars or rake the leaves from their neighbors yard out of their yard all went to the Zoo to walk around. And those who did not get into the Zoo joined the everyone else who spend up to 2 hours trying to get in an park! I joined the leaf raking brigade, opening up the house for a bit and airing out Max, who spend most all the day outside whether he wanted to or not. We also went for a leisurely walk at the end of the day. Being it was so nice, I would have welded up some parts, but I could not get the welder out to the front of the garage from all the stuff in the way. I need more than one warm day to work on that project.
Later that night the wind picked up and it cooled off, bringing rain and thunder as the front rolled through, also bringing Max to stay outside my door and restlessly stir. Why should I sleep if he can't, right?
