11-Feb-09 This old Rahn-Larmon lathe still has the factory-issued 14" 'Sweetland' (named after the inventor, Willaim Sweetland) chuck with it. 90 years later the chuck is pretty worn out, but it can still hold this piece of 12" tubing. A check with the dial indicator to center it and a few 'thumps' with the rubber mallet and we're ready to face the edges of the pipe for a true edge.
