Dec-1-04 Action shot of milling the axle box openings. This 2" long 1/2" milling cutter is just barely cutting into the sacrificial table below while we use every last bit of cutting flutes to mill both frames at once. It was really sharp and left a nice finish until we got the last opening which had hard spots in the metal due to the flame cutting process that roughed out the metal originally. In the background is a chip brush, now deceased. Bill kept telling me 'Don't get the brush too close to the cutter or it will grab it' and sure enough, I got the brush too close and chomp Chomp CHOMP just like those giant tree shredders I had a pile of chopped up bristles and a brush-less wooden handle with bite marks in about two seconds....
